In 2004 presidential campaign, war may hover
US economy has stolen the spotlight, but war may be a hot topic at first Democratic debate.

Note: It's amazing to see how fast opinions shift if the polls are to be believed. War support has morphed into "America First!" Continued opposition to the war could now be seen as "supporting Saddam Hussein." The war is barely over for God's sake.

In An Incredible Twist Of Irony - Dems Compare Testosterone Levels
- CBS News
"Howard Dean's stated belief that the United
States won't always have the strongest military
raises serious questions about his capacity to
serve as commander in chief," [Candidate Kerry spokesperson]Lehane said. "No
serious candidate for the presidency has ever
before suggested that he would compromise or
tolerate an erosion of America's military
supremacy."
Editor's Note:Not having read the full transcript of his remarks, I'm skeptical that Mr. Dean would "compormise or tolerate" either. The man was just stating the blatanly obvious - "Nothing last forever." I'm always amazed that by the time the general election rolls around that the candiates have anything left after the pummeling one another in the preliminaries.
