Comment: Is anyone but me bothered that the already chummy relationship between Washington and Hollywood is elevating to incestuous levels? I got the first twangs of nausea after hearing Orrin Hatch and others say that they had a "change of heart" about the Drug War after seeing TRAFFIC. I imagine that it didn't hurt that they had walk on parts in the picture.

Looks like Lieberman got caught with his pants down.

Excerpt: "His record," said Cabrera of Lieberman, "dating back to the 1960s when he marched with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and personally fought for the rights of African Americans to vote in Mississippi, is as strong as anyone's."

That won't be enough, said David Bositis, senior political analyst at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, which conducts research on politics in the African American community.

"Bringing up Dr. King is no kind of ace. It wasn't like Lieberman was one of King's aides," said Bositis.

Comment: MLK has long been the touchstone of "legitimacy" in the black community. It's getting old. They (both the politcians and black leadership) are just pimping the man.
